Quick Sums
Mental arithmetic against the clock. Pick a game, pick ten or twenty questions, and answer as fast as you can. Every wrong answer adds five seconds to your time.
Setting out the sums…
How to play
- Eight games: add and subtract (easy, with single and double digits, or harder), times tables, mixed arithmetic, percentages, money, missing number, or the lot.
- The clock starts when the first question appears. Type the answer (keyboard or the on-screen pad) and press Enter.
- A wrong answer shows you the right one and adds 5 seconds. There is no skipping.
- Your result is the time on the clock plus penalties. The score is 100 when you average three seconds a question; faster scores higher. Money answers go in pounds, such as 6.55.
- Your best time for each game and length is kept in this browser.
